Ben Koehler
Candidate for Arizona State House – District 20
Arizona · Legislative District 20
Statement
We need to build a strong public education system so that every child has genuine access to the resources that will set them up for success. We need to limit corporate greed and strengthen the power of workers. We need economic development that lifts our communities up instead of extracting natural resources and raising the cost of utilities. I am running for State Representative to create the government that we deserve, a government that fights on behalf of the people. As your elected representative I will only pursue policies that are focused on bettering the lives of the everyday neighbor in our district. The first action I've taken to back up my word is running as a Clean Elections candidate. Instead of relying on donations from wealthy individuals and outside organizations, the only voices and wallets I care about are those of constituents in LD 20. My role as an elected official is to listen to your voice, amplify your message, and advocate on your behalf. I cannot nor would I want to walk this path alone, please reach out to share your ideas, concerns, and voice so that we can build the government that we deserve together.
Biography
After visiting family in Arizona for all of my life, I moved to Tucson in August of 2020. Like many, I came for the University of Arizona but fell in love with everything Tucson has to offer. Instead of practicing when I graduated from the College of Law with my J.D. I decided to stay in the classroom, now as a teacher. The last couple years teaching math at Pueblo High School have been the most rewarding. I look forward to advocating on behalf of and representing the community that has become my chosen home.
