Gina Swoboda

Candidate for Secretary of State

Arizona

Statement

I am running for AZ Secretary of State to secure our elections, restore customer service across all divisions, improve response times and upgrade our software and security. The SOS covers many divisions, and the greatest concern is the Elections Division. I have served in every role in that division, and I know what it takes to execute under enormous pressure under conflicting statutory deadlines. There is a series of legislative actions that can help secure our systems. I will submit drafts to our AZ Leg Leadership to secure our elections immediately. Among these, routine post-election audits, an expansion of how we conduct Logic & Accuracy testing to include peripheral equipment, providing mandatory, public reporting to the Legislature on changes in the statewide voter registration database and conducting ongoing audits of every one of these procedures. Paramount among the responsibilities of the AZ SOS is the Elections Procedures Manual. That joint, stakeholder driven process will begin the day I walk back into that office. Business Services is a hugely important part of AZ SOS. We need to provide tools for faster response times to speed up the flow of economic growth across our state. It would be an honor to serve.
