Gwen Johnston
Candidate for Arizona State House – District 22
Arizona · Legislative District 22
Statement
I'm running for State House because Arizona families deserve a government that works for them, NOT corporate PACs or special interests. Too many people feel left behind while the cost of living rises, public schools are underfunded, and basic needs go unmet. I believe we can do better. I support fully funding public education so every child has the opportunity to succeed, no matter their zip code. I believe healthcare should be accessible and affordable, and that we must protect bodily autonomy and personal freedoms. We need fair, accountable law enforcement that keeps our communities safe while respecting the rights of every individual. Arizona must also invest in modern infrastructure, improving public transportation, reducing car dependency, and building communities that are connected and sustainable. I will fight to protect voting rights so every voice is heard and every vote counts. I'm committed to clean elections because our democracy should not be bought. This campaign is powered by people, not corporations. I'm running to bring integrity, transparency, a focus on real solutions to the State House, and to make sure every Arizonan has a fair shot at a good life.
Biography
I'm a parent and problem-solver who understands the realities facing working families in Arizona. I've raised children through every stage of life one of whom is graduating with a teaching degree, and others currently in elementary and high school. I know what it takes to stretch a budget, balance responsibilities, and navigate school, work, and healthcare. Those experiences shaped my belief that government should work for people—not corporations. I'm running to support strong public education, accessible healthcare, fair law enforcement, and better infrastructure. My campaign is people-powered and committed to clean elections, because democracy should belong to all of us.
