Born and raised in South Texas, she learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance as the daughter of migrant farmworkers. A graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. in Political Science (Pre-Law) and master's level coursework in Education, Hernandez brings both academic preparation and real-world experience to her leadership. She has a strong track record of community involvement and has served on the Cartwright School District Governing Board for over 20 years, helping lead efforts to turn the district around and improve outcomes for students and families. Throughout her career in family services, state government, and community based organizations, she has focused on expanding opportunity and delivering results for working families. She has consistently stood up for her community and all Arizonans, including organizing massive marches that gave families a platform to share their American stories rooted in hard work. Hernandez takes a balanced, solutions-oriented approach to finding resolve. Her priorities include education, jobs, healthcare, and affordable housing ensuring every Arizona family has the opportunity to succeed.

My career in public service from local school board leadership to the State Legislature has focused on delivering results for working families. I've worked to strengthen education, expand economic opportunity, and improve access to essential services. I bring a balanced, solutions-oriented approach rooted in accountability and transparency. I will continue to be an independent voice who listens, leads, and delivers for all Arizonans.
