Positions
Issue Stances
Water Policy
SupportsPounds supports water recycling networks, open source allocation systems for water rights, water reclamation loops in circular cities, and closed-loop water-efficient agriculture. His platform does not address Colorado River negotiations, groundwater regulation, tribal water rights, or conventional agricultural water restrictions.
Education Funding
SupportsPounds supports investing in community colleges, tech hubs, and skills academies for renewable energy, advanced water management, precision agriculture, and digital manufacturing. His Arizona FIRE proposal also calls for immediate school enrollment for children in immigrant families.
Border Security & Immigration
OpposesPounds opposes ICE-led immigration enforcement in Arizona and proposes using state authority to limit ICE operational authority where he says it compromises child protection or trafficking investigations. His Arizona FIRE plan favors sanctuary support, legal aid, housing pathways, family reunification, and workforce access for newcomers.
Housing Affordability
SupportsPounds supports an Every Head Home Plan that would consolidate homelessness-related costs into a centralized housing and service delivery system. His circular cities proposal argues modular housing and resource-efficient design could deliver affordable homes and reduce dependence on speculative housing markets.
Election Integrity
SupportsPounds supports auditing the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission and argues debate access rules have unfairly excluded independent and third-party candidates. He wants transparent, publicly verifiable election systems, but his focus is on debate access and Clean Elections oversight rather than voter ID, mail ballots, or tabulation rules.
Healthcare Access
SupportsPounds supports healthcare access for all residents regardless of immigration status, including trauma care, mental health services, and maternal-child health. His resource-based economy plan also includes public facilities capable of producing medical supplies.
Public Safety & Criminal Justice
SupportsPounds supports a statewide civilian review board, body cameras, use-of-force reporting, de-escalation training, and mental health co-response teams through what he calls the Daniel Shaver Act. He also supports violence prevention grants, restorative justice partnerships, and higher police academy admission standards.
Energy Policy
SupportsPounds supports a Public Energy Wealth Fund with direct energy dividends to Arizona residents, state-financed solar, wind, and geothermal projects, public ownership of renewable assets, green infrastructure bonds, and phasing out fossil fuel subsidies in favor of renewable microgrids.
Economic Development & Jobs
SupportsPounds supports a resource-based economy built around public resource accounting, green manufacturing, advanced water management, precision agriculture, and workforce retraining. He argues circular cities, automated transit, local food production, and state-backed manufacturing would create jobs and lower living costs.
Reproductive Rights
Not FoundNo direct public position found on abortion, contraception, IVF, or Arizona's abortion rights amendment. His healthcare language includes maternal-child health access but does not constitute a specific reproductive rights stance.
Transportation & Infrastructure
SupportsPounds supports circular cities, green infrastructure, and commons ownership of critical infrastructure including water networks, renewable energy installations, data platforms, and advanced manufacturing facilities. His infrastructure vision is systems-based rather than a conventional roads and highways plan.
Government Spending & Taxation
SupportsPounds supports public or commons management of critical infrastructure, public-private funds for zero-waste development, real-time resource accounting, and direct citizen energy dividends through a Public Energy Wealth Fund. No conventional tax code proposal found, but his platform clearly supports major public investment and coordination.
