About the Arizona Ballot Guide

Why this site exists

Arizona ballots are long. Beyond the governor and congressional races, voters are asked to choose legislators, statewide officers, corporation commissioners, and decide on statewide propositions, often with little more than a name and a party label to go on. Information about down-ballot candidates is scattered across campaign websites, filing records, local news, and debate recordings.

The Arizona Ballot Guide gathers that information in one place, so you can look up everyone on your ballot, read where they stand in plain language, and follow the sources back to where the information came from.

What's here

How information is researched

  • The candidate list is checked against the official Arizona Secretary of State filing system on a regular schedule, so new filings, withdrawals, and results are picked up.
  • Biographies and issue positions come from public records, candidate websites and questionnaires, debate transcripts, and Arizona news coverage. Every claim links to its source. The full list is on the Data Sources page.
  • Voting records are taken directly from official legislative records.
  • Biographies and stance summaries are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed by a person against the cited sources before they are published.
  • When something can't be verified, the profile says so instead of guessing. Some candidates, especially in local and legislative races, have published very little, so their profiles are shorter.

Nonpartisan by design

This site is an independent project, built and run by an Arizona resident. It is not affiliated with any candidate, campaign, political party, or PAC, and it doesn't endorse, rank, or score candidates. Every candidate in a race gets the same profile format, and candidates are listed alphabetically within each race (incumbents first).

The Alignmenttool compares your answers to candidates' published positions. It isn't a recommendation.

Keeping it current

Profiles are updated as candidates publish new positions, debates air, and results come in. Every change to the site is logged with its date and source on the Site Updates page.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, whether you're a voter, a journalist, or a candidate, please request a correction. Requests are reviewed against the sources, and accepted corrections are noted in the update log. General suggestions are welcome on the feedback page.

How the site is funded
