Biography

Abraham Jamal Hamadeh (born May 15, 1991) is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Arizona's 8th Congressional District (R), serving since 2025. Born in Chicago to Syrian immigrant parents and raised in Phoenix, he earned a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and a J.D. from the University of Arizona. He served as a U.S. Army intelligence officer beginning in 2016, was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2020, and worked as a prosecutor in both the Tucson City Prosecutor's Office and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. He is the first Arab American elected to Congress from Arizona.
