I'm running for State House to ensure every family in our district can afford to live, learn, and stay healthy. My first priority is affordability. Too many families are being priced out of housing or forced to spend far more than they should just to get by. I will work to expand housing options, support working families through fair wages and the right to organize, and create an economy where small businesses can grow and succeed. That also means making essentials like childcare more affordable so families can stay in the workforce. Second, I will fight to ensure every student has access to a quality education. Arizona's voucher program has grown rapidly, but too many students are still being left behind. We must focus on delivering real results; making sure every child has the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. Finally, I will work to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. No one should have to choose between getting care and paying their bills. I'm running to bring accountable, community-focused leadership to the Capitol and to put working families first.
Biography
Alberto Flores was born in Legislative District 24 to a working-class, mixed-status immigrant family and helped expand the family business as a teenager while finishing high school. His political activism began in response to then-Sheriff Joe Arpaio and SB 1070, and he has worked with organizations on legislation affecting marginalized communities. He holds a political science degree from Arizona State University. His campaign priorities include affordability and housing, worker protections and the right to organize, lowering health insurance premiums and prescription costs, and fully funding public schools with more transparency in ESA spending. He is endorsed by Sen. Analise Ortiz and Rep. Anna Abeytia. Flores finished first in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary for two LD24 House seats with 39.5% of the vote. He and Lisbeth Arescurenaga face Republican Delores McLaughlin in the November 3, 2026 general election.
