Statement
Betsy Munoz is a proud Latina who was born and raised in Arizona within the cities of Tolleson and West Phoenix. She is the proud daughter of immigrants and product of our local public schools. Betsy graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Service and Public Policy (Law and Policy). She has previously worked for nonprofit organizations to increase college and career access for all students, and currently works for an immigration law firm helping people with their immigration filings. Her experiences in education and immigration law fuel her passion to run as she has witnessed the gaps in our system and its effect on our communities. Her aim is to ensure our students, families, and communities are at the forefront of conversations at the state legislature. Driven by her background and experiences, she is fiercely committed to uplifting and ensuring each person has access to opportunity and resources. Betsy Munoz is a champion for increased funding for public schools, protecting immigrant rights, developing pathways for affordable housing, and ensuring the economic development across the valley supports our working-class families. She provides a fresh voice and perspective for our community.
Biography
Betsy Munoz is the proud daughter of immigrants and lifelong resident of the West Valley. Betsy graduated from Glendale Community College in 2019 and transferred to Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Service and Public Policy (Law and Policy). She has worked in nonprofit organizations focused on expanding college and career access and currently works for an immigration law firm. Her time in public education and legal services have provided her with firsthand insight into the challenges students, families, and our community face, fueling her passion for advocacy and public service.
