Statement
I am running for re election because Arizona needs proven leadership, real experience, and a representative who understands how policy affects everyday lives. My lifelong career in public service, housing, and community development has prepared me to lead with compassion and a clear understanding of what our communities need. From local housing leadership to serving on the Pima County Board of Supervisors during the pandemic, I have helped communities through both everyday challenges and times of crisis. In the Legislature, I have fought for working families on housing affordability, public education, healthcare, environmental justice, and economic security. I believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and fairness. I am running to continue delivering experienced, community rooted leadership for Legislative District 20.
Biography
Betty Villegas is a lifelong Pima County resident, third generation Tucsonan, and Arizona State Representative for Legislative District 20. She brings decades of leadership in public service, housing, and community development, with a career focused on improving the lives of working families. Betty has served in local housing leadership roles and on the Pima County Board of Supervisors during the pandemic, helping underserved communities access critical support. At the Legislature, she works on housing affordability, public education, healthcare, environmental justice, and economic opportunity, while standing up to ensure all people are treated with dignity, respect, and humanity.
