I am a former science educator that realized around 2010 that we were not cultivating the skills in our children for them to create society with our values in mind. So I left teaching and began running after school enrichment programs for parents who wanted their children to have these skills. And now, I not only want future generations but our generation to have a society and a connected community that can provide them with jobs, housing, and education. Biography
Brian Calaway is an Arizona native who has lived in Mesa for more than 25 years. As a member of the Arizona Democratic Party, he wrote a resolution, adopted unanimously, to make Franklin D. Roosevelt's proposed "Second Bill of Rights" on economic rights the core of the state party's platform. His campaign says he has worked with children in public schools for many years, and he hosts a podcast featuring conversations with Arizonans. He is running as a Clean Elections candidate on a platform of living wages, fully funded public schools, Medicaid protection, housing, water, and income security. He finished second in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary and faces Democrat Helen Hunter, Republicans Justin Olson and James Rogers, and No Labels Party candidate David Scott for two seats in the November 3, 2026 general election.
