Statement
People matter. What we do today, matters. With a long view of history in mind, we can easily discern our trajectory forward. The obvious question is – what do we need to now to provide every avenue of success to future generations? Our response to this question will determine how well we accomplish our mission. Our Arizona State Constitution declares (Article 2, Section 1) "A frequent recurrence to fundamental principles is essential to the security of individual rights and the perpetuity of free government." As well as (Article 2, Section 2) "All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights." With this foundation established, put me to work. I will fight for educational freedom, to improve scholastic standards, maintain border integrity, protect our citizens' liberties, and help restore our adherence to values embraced and required by our Constitutional Republic. It is our responsibility to teach future generations how to protect and keep a very rare gift – freedom.
Biography
I am a Tucson native, a husband, and father. I am a Christian. Professionally, I am an engineer. My family has been a part of southern Arizona for many decades. We have worked in the mines, helped bring water to our neighborhoods and farming communities, run local businesses, and invested in our pueblos. I attended both Pima Community College and the University of Arizona. During graduate school, I moved to Mexico to teach and learn. I returned home and continued working with folks from all walks of life. These experiences have taught me the value of investing in people.
