Douglas Everett

Candidate for Arizona State Senate – District 18

Arizona · Legislative District 18

Statement

As an engineer, and seeing the big picture, I focus on solving complex problems and ensuring systems, like policy making for Arizona, operate safely and reliably, not engaging in political bickering. Arizona families need high paying Jobs, Opportunities, and Safety. I will strengthen Arizona's economy, improve infrastructure, support dependable energy including SMRs, encourage water management, and embrace fiscal responsibility leading to overall affordability. I will work with federal and local colleagues for efficient solutions. Your taxpayer dollars will be wisely spent with transparency, with some coming back to LD18. I support quality education while preserving funding choices for families. Attaining Eagle Scout, I believe strongly in service, responsibility, and helping our next generation succeed, thus encouraging long-term investments. I encourage closer DPS cooperation with federal and local security agencies, resulting in stronger law enforcement thereby reducing crime. I would adequately fund ADOT for safer roads and airports. Cyclists' and motorists' teeth should not chatter. Funded by Clean Elections, my responsibility is to the LD18 constituents - not large donors. Good ideas deserve support, independent of your party affiliation. Let's meet on the campaign trail (schedule on my website). Strengthen your voice. Vote for DOUGLAS EVERETT, the 6'7" APPROACHABLE candidate.

Biography

I have dedicated many years to community service in various roles: youth chess club coach, Boy Scout leader, merit badge counselor, mentor through Big Brothers, and campaign manager. I was an electrical engineer for 37 years in the aerospace industry. My father, a former U. S. Air Force pilot, inspired me to fly high and see the big picture. I did that by obtaining a pilot license shortly after graduating Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I also serve my church as an usher and as its Knights of Columbus Deputy Grand Knight.
