Biography
Ian Teller is a Diné community advocate from Tsaile, Arizona. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fort Lewis College and a master's in music industry from the University of Southern California, and has used his background in media development for outreach and voter-participation work in Native communities. He has been recognized as a Center for Native American Youth Champion for Change and a UNITY 25 Under 25 honoree. His platform prioritizes affordable housing, eliminating dual state and tribal taxation on businesses on tribal lands, a State-Tribal Climate Accord on water and climate, and public and tribal college education; his campaign lists endorsements from former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and state Sen. Theresa Hatathlie. He finished second in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary with about 30% of the vote and, with Rep. Mae Peshlakai, faces Green Party nominee Brendan Trachsel in the November 3, 2026 general election.
