I am running for office because I am tired of the chaos in our current Arizona State Legislature. Arizonans deserve better, and I want to be the voice for the LD19 voters. My values reflect my capacity for empathy and my vision for humanity. I envision a better Arizona for all, where everyone can achieve the life they dream of for themselves and their families. Justice, truth, and peace for all. As I embark on my campaign, my top priorities are healthcare and public education. I am concerned about access and affordability of healthcare, especially with the upcoming Medicaid/AHCCCS cuts in 2026, which threaten the services of critical access hospitals in District LD-19. Additionally, I am focused on ensuring accountability in the AZ Voucher system, making sure our tax dollars are truly benefiting our children's education.
Biography
Jackie O'Donnell Anderson is a retired emergency department registered nurse with 42 years of experience, including 19 years at a critical access hospital in Arizona. She has lived in rural southeastern Pima County since 1995, when she moved to be closer to her mother in Green Valley, and raised her daughter there. She came out of retirement to run for the Legislature. Anderson finished first in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary for the district's two House seats, 24 votes ahead of Aiden Swallow, and the two face Republicans David Gowan and Lupe Diaz in the November 3, 2026 general election.
