Biography
Jay Feely (Thomas James Feely, born May 23, 1976) is the Republican nominee for Arizona's 1st Congressional District. A former NFL placekicker, he played from 2001 to 2014 for several teams, including the Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets, and made three Pro Bowls. He then worked as a CBS Sports football analyst. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Michigan. Feely, a Valley resident for about 15 years, has not previously held public office. He first filed in the 5th District and switched to the 1st at the request of President Donald Trump, who endorsed him. The pro-AI committee Leading the Future PAC planned to spend $600,000 on his race, according to the Arizona Republic. His platform centers on border security, extending the 2017 tax cuts, energy production, and protecting girls' and women's sports. In an October 7, 2026 Clean Elections debate, he said local communities should decide whether to allow data centers and said he disagreed with the Trump administration over the size of Arizona's Colorado River cuts.
