Our Representatives are remarkably ineffective. They don't pass bills or get things done, they just show up to vote NO on things that would help our community because they are loyal to their party leadership and want to play political games. We pay the price for their bad behavior. I'll actually work with people and get things done. I'll oppose efforts to raise our taxes or to take more from our paychecks. Biography
Jonathan McKenna is a first-time candidate who says public service runs in his family, with a grandfather, uncle, brother and cousin who have served as state representatives in various states. He moved to Arizona for family and has worked with vulnerable populations to help them find housing and jobs. His candidate statement says he would oppose tax increases, support safe streets and schools, and work to get fentanyl off the streets, and criticizes the district's current representatives for voting along party lines. McKenna finished second in the July 21, 2026 Republican primary for two LD26 House seats with 48.1% of the vote; he and Frank Roberts were the only candidates. They face Democratic Reps. Cesar Aguilar and Quantá Crews and Green Party candidate Hector Gomez in the November 3, 2026 general election.
