Julia Romero Gusse is running to deliver real solutions to the challenges facing Legislative District 16 and to ensure our growing communities are not left behind. Her campaign is focused on addressing critical infrastructure needs, including expanding Interstate 10 and improving State Route 347 to reduce congestion and restore valuable time to families who commute daily. She is a strong advocate for responsible water policy, working to ensure long-term sustainability so future generations can continue to live and thrive. She has a strong track record of working with both Democrats and Republicans. Julia is also committed to strengthening public education by reinvesting in our schools, supporting teachers, and holding voucher recipients accountable to ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly. Her vision includes bringing good-paying jobs to the district, supporting economic development that benefits working families, and ensuring safe, affordable communities where residents can build stable lives. Julia is especially dedicated to supporting veterans and ensuring they, along with all families, have access to the services, housing, and opportunities they deserve. Julia is running to bring practical leadership, accountability, and a strong voice to the legislature—focused on solutions that improve everyday life for the people of LD16.

Biography

Julia Romero Gusse is an Air Force veteran, former City of Maricopa Councilmember, and dedicated public servant running for Arizona House in Legislative District 16. She has four generations of family members currently residing in Pinal County and recently retired from state service to run for this seat. Julia served as a Legislative Liaison for the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, where she worked with both Democrats and Republicans, and as a Presidential Appointee with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She is also a former educator and Director of Veterans Upward Bound at Arizona State University.
