Statement
For more than 30 years, Junelle Cavero has championed equal opportunity, equity, and economic security. Her work has focused on advancing policies that support minorities, women, children, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and working families. She earned her Master's in Public Administration with a commitment to serving and uplifting these communities. As a mother of two, Junelle is deeply concerned about the rise in homelessness across our district. She is dedicated to working alongside public safety officials and community members to build trust and ensure safe, thriving neighborhoods. Drawing on her experience as a public administrator, she is well-equipped to develop effective policies and responsible budgets to address these challenges. Junelle serves on the Arizona State House Committees: Commerce, International Trade, Science and Technology and AI and Innovation where she tirelessly advocates for Arizona's working families. As a State Representative, Junelle will continue to advocate for immediate action on workers' rights, universal childcare, small business recovery, public safety, affordable housing, a livable minimum wage, and clean, sustainable water policies.
Biography
Rep. Junelle Cavero was appointed in April 2024 to represent Arizona's Legislative District 11, where she cast the deciding vote to repeal the 1864 abortion ban. A national political consultant, public administrator, entrepreneur, and mother, she brings over 30 years of experience in government relations, nonprofit leadership, and business development. Raised by working-class immigrant parents, she credits her upbringing to her father, a Navy Vietnam veteran and retired union postal letter carrier. Junelle has fought for WWII veterans' equity in Congress, expanded healthcare access, led civic engagement programs, worked on presidential campaigns, and battled housing discrimination in Arizona.
