I met my wife during this time, married now for 44 years. We raised our two children in the Chicagoland area, both now having masters in education fields. As time allowed I became involved in the Democratic Party, where I was elected as prescient committee person. I also held the following positions, vice chair, chair and Sargent of arms. And yes I am the proud papa of two grandchildren." As a lifelong Democrat I support the U.S. Constitution, Arizona Constitution, Democratic Party. Which means equal rights for men, women, LBGQT+, all races, women's right to choose, veterans, proper immigration, due process, healthcare. We need to take care of our environment, water, solar, nature. We need programs to create well pay jobs. I will do everything I can to improve these items
Biography
Michael Braun was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, and raised in Chicago's western suburbs, graduating from Proviso West High School in 1971. He worked in a UAW plant, where he was elected shop steward and later council chair. After the plant closed in 1986, he completed an HVAC certification program at Triton Community College and went on to maintenance, supervisory and management positions in hospitals and medical buildings. He has been active in the Democratic Party, serving as a precinct committee person and in positions including vice chair and chair. He has been married 44 years and has two children and two grandchildren. In his candidate statement he lists support for equal rights, abortion rights, veterans, immigration policy with due process, healthcare, and protecting the environment and water. Braun ran unopposed in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary and faces incumbent Republican Sen. Frank Carroll in the November 3, 2026 general election.
