Statement
Representative Nancy Gutierrez was elected to the State House in LD18 in 2022 and now serves as Assistant Minority Leader and is Ranking Member on the Education Committee. She also serves on the Appropriations Committee. Nancy grew up in Arizona. She attended NAU and earned a BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math. She's lived all over Arizona including Phoenix, Sierra Vista as a military spouse and teacher and Tucson since 2007. She and her husband have raised their two daughters in Tucson. She has held an Arizona Teaching Credential since 1994 and her Yoga Teaching Certificate in 2009, and most recently taught at Tucson since 2013. She's a member of the Arizona Education Association. Nancy is proud to be a Hunt Kean Leadership Fellow, Cohort 12. She serves as a Governor appointed member of the Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers. Representative Nancy Gutierrez is running again to serve the people of LD18 and the entire state. She will continue to work on legislation for free school meals, clean air and water, affordable housing and healthcare and gun safety legislation.
Biography
Representative Nancy Gutierrez was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives 2022. She serves her caucus as the Assistant Minority Leader, as the Ranking Member on the Education and is on the Appropriation Committee. She is a Hunt Kean Leadership Fellow and a Member of the Early Childhood Hunt Institute Program. Nancy has taught preschool to high school and is a proud member of the Arizona Education Association. She fights for reproductive healthcare and equity, LGBTQ+ rights, to protect our precious water and works to pass sensible gun legislation in order to keep our schools and community safer.
