After a stellar 19-year career, the US Air Force tried to kick me out for refusing a COVID-19 shot I was not legally required to take. That turned me from a conservative citizen who lived to serve others into someone who needed to step up and defend everyone who shared my concerns about our liberties and values. I made dozens of media appearances and worked with members of Congress to find redress for thousands of service members unjustly impacted by illegal mandates. Biography
Nick Kupper is the incumbent Republican state representative for Legislative District 25, first elected in 2024. He grew up in Oregon and joined the U.S. Air Force in 2003, serving about 20 years as a military electrician, recruiter and manager before retiring in 2023 while stationed at Luke Air Force Base. He has said the Air Force sought to discharge him for refusing a COVID-19 vaccine, and he worked with members of Congress on behalf of service members affected by vaccine mandates. He holds degrees in human resource management and aviation maintenance technology and worked as a paralegal before his election. He and his wife, Crystal, have five children. Kupper finished second in the July 21, 2026 Republican primary for two LD25 House seats with 46.9% of the vote; he and Rep. Michael Carbone were the only candidates. They face Democrat Tiffany Byrne in the November 3, 2026 general election.
