Biography
Paul Carver is a Republican candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 2. His campaign describes him as a fourth-generation Arizonan, Marine Corps veteran, husband, father of eight and grandfather of ten. He was elected to the Deer Valley Unified School District governing board in 2022 and has served as board president; he is also on the November 3, 2026 ballot seeking re-election to that board. His campaign says he believes state government should live within its means and lists fiscal responsibility, public safety and parental rights among his themes. KJZZ reported that in since-deleted Facebook posts, Carver said he was at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and claimed there was no insurrection; KJZZ did not report a response from Carver. He won the second Republican nomination as a write-in candidate and faces Democratic incumbent Stephanie Simacek and Republican incumbent Justin Wilmeth in the November 3, 2026 general election for the district's two House seats.
