I have never wanted to be a politician, but I found out that being in politics is one of the best ways to help others if it's done properly. I'm not good a making big promises that I can't keep. I don't like to lie. If I were to be elected, I would work to take as much money out of politics as possible. I would introduce a bill to make everyone run clean elections campaigns. Clean Elections is a fund that provides money to pay for candidates' campaigns. If they receive clean elections funding, they can't take PAC money or corporate money. Affordable healthcare is also very important to me. I have a granddaughter that's a diabetic. She needs affordable insulin. I would work to make insulin and other pharmaceuticals affordable. Affordable housing, education, and water issues are also very important to me. I'm running because I care, and I want to help people. I don't care about money or power; I just want to leave the world a little better because I've been here
Biography
Sandy Zalecki is a veteran, mother and grandmother who has lived in Arizona for 30 years, including nine years in the Prescott area. Raised in a rural area of Colorado, she holds an associate degree in electronics and a bachelor's degree in Bible and theology, and is a Bible study facilitator and Distinguished Toastmaster. Running as a Clean Elections candidate, she proposes requiring all candidates to run publicly funded Clean Elections campaigns, capping insulin costs at $30 a month, allowing the state to import cheaper drugs from Canada, and expanding affordable housing, and describes herself as pro-choice. She ran unopposed in the July 21, 2026 Democratic primary and faces Republican incumbents Selina Bliss and Quang Nguyen in the November 3, 2026 general election for the district's two House seats.
