Biography
Sebastian "Seb" Matta is a 19-year-old Arizona State University sophomore studying philosophy, and the youngest person to secure a partisan nomination for office in Arizona history. An Argentine American, he says his interest in the office traces to childhood visits to the Clerk's office with his father, an investigator for a law firm. Matta ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination for Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court — the first Democrat to run for the office since 2022 — and faces Republican nominee Jeff Dial in the November 3, 2026 general election.
