Candidate for Arizona State House – District 2

Arizona · Legislative District 2

Statement

I am a mom, public school teacher, Deer Valley Unified School District governing board member, and an Arizona State House Representative. I first ran for office to strengthen public education, address our water crisis, and tackle rising costs, including childcare, healthcare, and housing. Since my election in 2024, I have had the honor and privilege to fight for these issues on behalf of Arizona's second legislative district. These are not partisan issues; they affect us all, regardless of our political affiliation. As a public school teacher, I saw firsthand the positive impact of diverse teaching methods, dedicated staff, and engaged parents. As a mother, I've felt how hard rising costs in healthcare, housing, childcare, food, and utilities have hit Arizona families. As an Arizonan, I know we must act fast to ensure that future generations get to enjoy this great state we all know and love. I am seeking reelection this year because our work is far from finished. There is still so much we can do, and I remain committed to continuing that work on behalf of my neighbors.

Biography

Stephanie was raised in Oregon, where her teachers instilled in her a passion for education. In 2014, she made Arizona her home with her two daughters. She began teaching first grade in a public school after graduating from Grand Canyon University with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Working with first graders was rewarding and challenging, and it reaffirmed her belief in the power of education to transform lives In 2022, her neighbors elected Stephanie first to the Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board, then two years later, to represent Arizona's second legislative district at the House of Representatives, where she faithfully serves all of Arizona.
