As a veteran, I don't use words like honor casually. So when I tell you that I'm honored to serve as your State Representative, please know how sincerely I mean it. I campaign as an Arizona First conservative and then I govern just like I said I would. That means I'm working hard on advancing our shared goals: A strong rural economy, quality schools and school choice, secure borders and secure elections, medical freedom, religious liberty, low taxes, rural infrastructure, protecting our water, passing Term Limits on Congress, protecting our Constitutional rights, and much more. Biography
Walt Blackman is a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 7 and a combat veteran with more than 21 years of military service. He was the first African American Republican elected to the Arizona Legislature, has chaired the House Judiciary Committee and now chairs the Government Committee. He is an author and hosts The Walt Blackman Show, and was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame in 2021. He and his wife, Kristie, have five grown children. He finished first in the July 21, 2026 Republican primary with about 35% of the vote and, with fellow Republican David Cook, faces Democratic nominee Samuel Martin and Green Party nominee Richard Grayson in the November 3, 2026 general election.
